Quick journal tip

Try writing in your journal with a pencil, rather than an ink pen.
Try writing in your journal with a pencil, rather than an ink pen.

Journals are a fun personal method of record-keeping. One of the biggest reasons why so many people do not keep a journal is because they think of them like diaries with locks. The truth is that journals have evolved into a much more enjoyable form of keeping memories. In fact, journals are not just meant to only house your memories or ramblings. There are so many more ways to keep a journal. To give you an idea of today’s journal, here are several types of journals you can keep.

Daily Journal

A daily journal is your typical type of journal. Much akin to the dated lock-and-key diary, a daily journal is a place of daily personal reflection. In a daily journal, you might write about your day-to-day activities, your personal struggles, or your personal woes. A daily journal is most often used to write about anything and everything.

Prayer Journal

A prayer journal houses your spiritual reflections. It is most commonly used as a place to record and write prayers. You can also keep a details of prayers answered, blessings received, or spiritual insight.

Goals Journal

This type of journal is one you would use to keep track of your personal and/or professional goals. In contrast to a daily journal, your goals journal would only include entries related or pertaining to your goals. You might use it as a place to plan your year in advance, set major goals, or revamp personal mini goals. It is also advisable to include updates about goals reached, as this will motivate you in the future.

Bible Reading Journal

A bible reading journal is one you might keep if you are a Bible scholar, or just someone who enjoys reading and studying the Bible. This kind of journal would include recording a daily scripture, along with your thoughts and discoveries in your studies of this particular passage.

Personal Growth Journal

This journal is somewhat similar to a daily journal and goals journal, but is unique in its own way. Rather than only being a place to write about your daily life or your dreams and goals, a personal growth journal is one wherein you write entries regarding your own personal development. Maybe you want to learn how to speed read, speak a new language, think more positively, or live a life less-stressed. As you experience shifts and changes and growth within yourself, you would write about this in your personal growth journal.

As you can see, keeping a journal is not as boring as it might seem. It can be fun, entertaining, and even educational. Try it!
